The Fort Larned National Historic Site, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, is an excellent place to visit if you ever travel through central Kansas. Over the Labor Day weekend, I drove out there to watch the flag retreat demo. I don’t know exactly how large the Fort’s flag is, but you can take a good guess by comparing it to the officers (in period costume) waiting to catch it.
