Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska, as seen from our helicopter as we approached to land on the ice itself.

This definitely should be included in a calendar or photo book.
Mom
wow, you are an adventurer, aren’t you?
I love the idea of following another helicopter, reminds me of David Breashears’ documentary of mount Everest; the team lugging their film crew and entire camp up the mountains in ex-soviet military helos. Just yesterday I was wondering what it would cost to rent a helicopter to take night shots of Minneapolis.

Wouldn’t that be super fun (and $$)!
It’s a great picture, simple because of the content. Color composition is superb too. The picture has a full depth. What I noticed is the upper portion of the picture seems closer than the lower middle part (the portion filled with water); this gives a feeling of distance as well as closeness. I think the presence of the cumulus cloud contributed to this sketch.
I wish there were some detail captured on bottom of the picture (especially on the left), I don’t know if it was possible to do so in addition to rest of the content. I think an enlarged version will be superb if the dark on the left bottom doesn’t interfere.
The helicopter seems distant (which is great) and could be leaving the scene to suggest that something is coming (not necessarily bad).
So Kat, when are you going to create your own calendars to sell? And make some money off you your talent? I would buy some!
SOMEDAY! This has been on my to-do list for a couple of years now. I just never make the time… SOMEDAY!
