Rather than post a photo today, I’m featuring the artistry of someone else, my classmate and friend Rachel Winter. In her spare time, she likes to sew, and as you can see, she makes really cute baby clothes!

“I began to sew things as a young child on my mother’s beautiful Bernina sewing machine. I’ve come a long way from the Barbie outfits and hair scrunchies. Like my mother, I also developed a love for fabric, how it feels, and what can me made from it. Pair that with a need to have my hands always busy, mix in some training in studio arts and presto! A need to be crafty is created!”

Check out “Paris + London: January 1-12, 2008” on Blurb, and click on the Book Preview to see the first few pages.  Yes, you can even order a copy, but the book isn’t very relative to anyone other than myself, although the photos are fun to look at! :)

Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Gretchen and I came here to explore and have some photo fun. It’s a great place to use long shutter times (this one is at 4 sec) because so much movement is present in this hub of commuters. You can’t tell in this photo, but this was taken well after the sun had gone down. I uploaded this photo in tritone and b&w versions too. Tritone is my favorite; everyone else?

 

Also, I have finally invested in a Pro Account on Flickr (yay!) and have spent time putting my photos into Sets and Collections. In addition, all of the photos I have ever uploaded are now available for viewing (rather than only the most recent 100).
