Since my moving to Sweden 11 months ago, job hunting has been pretty difficult. I have applied for at least 30 jobs, gotten maybe four automated responses (these coming at least two months after I even applied), and received ZERO personal replies. I received the strangest letter last week from an organization that I’d applied for a job with nearly three months ago. The letter states that the org recently hired someone else for the position. [Ok, normal for a rejection letter.] But then it goes on to say that if I want to appeal the hiring decision, I can do so by sending a letter to the org’s board of appeals. I …continue reading

Spring is finally appearing here on the west coast of Sweden. I just walked 30 leisurely minutes home as the day progressed from twilight into dusk, and it could have not been more pleasant out.
