When we booked our one-way tickets to Singapore, I hadn’t researched about what to see, do, and eat. I had, however, seen a photo of the most impressive hotel in the world – and that’s where I wanted to go.
Even though I’m no longer living in Haarlem, I still think of its 14 secret gardens, charming little green oases of calm and solitude. Visiting these Dutch “hofjes” is a must for Haarlem sightseeing.
What could be more Dutch than the iconic, wooden windmill along a canal’s edge? I’ve managed to visit three in and around Haarlem, in the most Dutch way possible – by bicycle!
